The journal "Islamovedenie" was founded in 2009. Its first editor in chief was a Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Vahabov M.V . Now the journal is headed by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Philosophy Yakhyaev M. Ya.
" Islamovedenie " - is the first in the Russian Federation, the collection of scientific and theoretical articles on Islamic issues. The main purpose of publication is to provide readers objective information about Islam and its various forms of existence. The journal publishes materials aimed against religious and political extremism and the various forms of its manifestation, as well as articles on the issues of tolerance, peace and stability in the region, contributing to the weakening of confrontational tendencies within the Muslim community.
