This article analyzes in a documented way the first years of the cinematic exhibition in Zacatecas. The information offered by the author supposes an update of the existing bibliography providing an array of documentary sources obtained at local archives. The article reports an important chapter in the origins of the cinematic phenomenon, while it provides new information for the historiography of the Mexican cinema.
