The following article analyzes Mexico, The Frozen Revolution(Argentine/USA, Raymundo Gleyzer, 1970) within the Latin American historical and political context. It centers on Gleyzer’s critique of the Mexican Revolution’s PRI institutionalization. It connects this critique to the undercurrents of the 1960s and 1970’s Latin Americanist thought, which informed Gleyzer’s ideology. The analysis highlights Gleyzer’s appropriation of archival footage of the Mexican Revolution.
