e-Government is the latest terminology of an integrated system between machines and
humans working simultaneously in producing fast and accurate information. Since it was
first implemented in Indonesia, there have been ups and downs in its development. The
same thing happened at the level of local government, Riau Provincial Government.
This paper attempts to describe the journey of e-Government in Riau province for more
than a decade by reflecting the results of previous studies with the policies issued by the
Government and Pemeringkatan e-Government Indonesia (PeGI), thus illustrated a
series of trips intact from upstream to downstream.
