The product innovation is considered an important business strategy that guarantees
sustainability. His increasing use allowed big consumerism, generating environmental deterioration,
creating the need in the companies to overturn towards the environmental conservation, with the purpose
to attain true sustainable development. In consequence, arose the investigation whose purpose was to
design a model for products innovation, that allowed to mitigate the negative impacts to the environment,
improve the productive and competitive levels of the companies and have an impact in the society taking
a case of study one company in the metal-mechanic field of Cali, Colombia. This work initiates with the
conceptualization on product innovation, eco-innovation and eco-efficiency, followed of a study to the
business context. The next step was designed a model taking the conceptualization and the models of
innovation and eco-innovation, all uses the present time. Finally, the model was validated. Furthermore, we
created a product with possibilities of a patent in fields of action at the environmental politics of the company,
indicators of management and databases of possible new products. In conclusion this model promotes
the integration in technical aspects, work manage, merchandising, environmental care at the moment
of included a new product. That’s implies the necessity of collaboration in all the fields of organization.
