Professional whitening of devitalized teeth is considered as one of the treatment methods for persistent discoloritis. When assessing the type of discoloritis and its severity, one should have an idea about the color of teeth in normal conditions and under the influence of a number of exogenous and endogenous factors, since finding out the nature of tooth color and the cause of its occurrence is important for choosing the method of subsequent treatment. Objectives. To evaluate the effectiveness of intracrown whitening and restoration of the fluorescent properties of devitalized teeth, depending on the type of the sealer used for endodontic treatment, the cause of depulpation and its remoteness. Material and methods. To study the effectiveness of intracoronal whitening of devitalized teeth, 194 teeth were whitened in 190 patients who applied to the VSMU Clinic and the Chair of Restorative Dentistry with the course of the Faculty for Advanced Traning & Retraining of VSMU in the period 2014-2019 with complaints of a change in the color of teeth after endodontic treatment. Results. The analysis of the data obtained shows that the whitening effect with the restoration of color and fluorescent properties to the original characteristics of the vital tooth was achieved in 72 teeth out of 194 (37,11%). In 122 teeth (62,89%) the necessary whitening and fluorescence recovery did not occur. Of these, 68 teeth (35,05%) were partially whitened, 54 teeth (27,84%) were not whitened. Conclusions. The data obtained indicate that on intracrown whitening of previously endodontically treated teeth with changed color, in order to achieve a good whitening result, it is necessary to take into account the type of root sealer with which the root canal is obturated and the remoteness of tooth depulpation.
