This paper presents an analysis of two public policies which show “povos quilombolas” as beneficiaries in opposition to the invisibility faced by ten communities settled in Minas Gerais in relation to local social nets. The focus stems from showing the necessity of inserting these groups in the economic and socio-cultural systems as a premise to the local development.
