The incidence of cervical cancer (CC) in Latin America, including Venezuela, is one of the highest in the world. In Venezuela cancer represents the second cause of death and the CC occupies the first place in mortality in the country’s female population. HPV is a virus of which there are more than 40 genotypes with an affinity for the ano-genital mucosa, of which serotypes 16 and 18 are associated with the highest oncogenic potential, being responsible for 70% of cervical cancers and 50% of precancerous lesions. The objective of the present work was to determine the cervical-uterine cytological findings of adult women from Maniapure, Bolívar, Venezuela. It was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study. The population was made up of the inhabitants of Maniapure, for August and September 2018. 115 female patients were evaluated, of which only 38 met the inclusion criteria. The samples were taken from the cervix, taking exocervix and endocervix cells, and evaluated by a pathology department, using the BETHESDA classification system. 38 cervical cytologies were processed, from which two results were obtained that were compatible with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASC- US). The prevalence of cervical-uterine cytological findings in adult women varies by geographic region and age. In this work it was found that only 5.26% of the studied women presented cytological alterations.
