Wheat straw, which is greatly available in Turkey and mostly ploughed into soil or burned
on the field, could be utilized in the production of composite materials. Wheat straw (either
directly or after modification with different coupling agents) could be rationally utilized as
filler or reinforcer in the thermoplastic composites. Finding new usage field for wheat straw
might have the potential of reducing the pressure on our forest resources as well as
providing additional income to the farmers.
