This paper reviews the influence of environmental pollution on the anatomical, the physical
and the mechanical properties of wood. For that reason, an important part of the researches
about this subject done so far is reviewed. As a consequence; environmental pollution
effects the anatomical properties of wood significantly while it effects some of the physical
properties of wood and have no effect on the mechanical properties of wood.
