Elderly women have many problems and economic problems are also playing significant role in their
old age. As the women don’t have any income of their own and have no properties, they are facing many
problems. Hence, a sample survey of 150 elderly women was made in slum areas of Gulbarga city. Though good
numbers of respondents have income, still the income is lower and though a few of the respondents have owned
properties, the value of such properties is lower. Hence, there is needed to increase the economic status of
elderly women by increasing old age pensions and other facilities and services.
