IMPACT OF COMBINATION OF LAND AND WATER WALKING ON SELECTED HEALTH RELATED PHYSICAL FITNESS OF OBESE ADULTS

The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of land and water walking on selected health related physical fitness of obese adults. To achieve the purpose of the present study, thirty obese adults were randomly selected from Chennai district, Tamilnadu, India and their age ranged from 18 to 21 years. The selected subjects were divided into two groups of fifteen subjects in each. Group I acted as land and water walking group and Group II acted as control group. The Land and water walking group participated for a period of eight weeks for alternate three days in a week and the post-tests were taken. To find out the difference between the two groups paired‘t’ test was used. The result reveals that the land and water walking group showed better performance on cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body mass index than the control group.
