Initial segment of Muslim education: results of the monitoring of mosque courses in Republic of Tatarstan

This paper considers the results of the monitoring study of the initial segment of the Muslim religious education in the Republic of Tatarstan, held in 2013. Now Muslim schools provide reproduction of Muslim community and help the ordinary Muslim to be integrated into polycultural society of Russia. Effective activity of Muslim schools serves as a barrier to penetration of extremist Islamic ideas and makes a contribution to national security. Statistical data on pupils, teachers, organizers of Muslim schools are widely submitted. Experience of eight most successful Muslim schools from various regions of the republic is analysed. Used were for data collection questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with participants of educational process. Characteristic features of the educational process, which ensure the success of Muslim schools. Muslim schools take into account the characteristics of gender, age, educational needs, level of religiosness, ethnicity, and language in the formation of the educational program. Teachers, a im is seek to educate the identity of the Muslim according to a religious canon, and not just to impart knowledge, necessary from the point of view of religion. Organizers of Muslim schools seek to provide an individual approach to the pupil, and also his cultural and sports leisure.
