The article discusses the problem of religious mediation in the Russian Federation. It raises the problem of mediation principles compatibility with disputes settlement between worshippers in religious organizations. Concerns have been voiced that religious mediation could turn into a kind of religious arbitration and could possibly violate human rights and freedoms. The paper also takes into account the international experience of mediation in some states, particularly the countries of the CIS.
