Orthodox ethics of postmodern era creates the new interpretation of relations "Me and You", "Society and Me",
''God and Me". The basis for the ethical teachings is post-metaphysical theory of personality and community as
the ideal communication. Orthodox existentialism by Christos Yannaras has arisen up and develops mostly as
the creative reconsideration of the patristic personal mysticism by means of the modern existentialism. Sources,
characteristics and consequences of Orthodox ethics by Ch. Yannaras are noteworthy because of their great
influence on the theological discourse and official documents of Orthodox churches on many ethical issues. The
Orthodox ethics by Ch. Yannaras searches the theological foundation in the developed theory of existence, the
center of which is the ecstatic desire for love and eternal life. Ch. Yannaras considers the patristic Greek
language, which has formed Christian doctrines about God and the Christian doctrine of the person, church,
social reality, as the most appropriate regarding exemplary practices. Greek culture and biblical tradition in
Greek patristics are not just the synthesis, but the goal of the development. However, Ch. Yannaras does not
reveal actual ethical requirements from the foundation of his ethics. We can claim that the vision of the modern
society as the immoral state of falling and possible church-centered society of the future as morally perfect is a
typical utopia inherent to the thinkers of the late modernity.
