Android operating system is a fascinating operat-ing system developed for mobile devices. It is being used in a comparatively large number of embedded & mobile plat-forms. This paper presents a brief introduction to Android operating system, and some discussion about its version his-tory. Furthermore, the discussion goes through architecture of the operating system, difference between Android modi-fied kernel and Linux kernel, new Android Runtime envi-ronment ART, security and privacy risks, and at the end, a simple basic solution is suggested to prevent from those risks.
