ABOUT INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SOCIAL PSYCHIATRY

Established in 1954, International Journal of Social Psychiatry provides a forum for the dissemination of findings related to social psychiatry. The journal is of interest to psychiatrists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team around the world concerned with the impact of social factors on individuals well being and mental health. Social psychiatry as a branch of psychiatry deals with the social, environmental and cultural factors in the aetiology and outcomes of psychiatric disorders as affecting individuals as well as communities. In addition to research reports on original research, social psychiatry also provides a link with social anthropology, cultural psychiatry, sociology and other disciplines in the field of mental health and is equally influenced by them.
