Argumentos is an electronic journal of the Department of Politics and Social Sciences of the State University of Montes Claros - UNIMONTES. Its general objective is to establish itself as a space for debate and exchange in Social Sciences from a critical perspective. His thematic area covers Anthropology, Sociology and Political Science.
Our target audience are researchers from the Social and Human Sciences (academics, students, members of social organizations and the wider community). Argumentos has Portuguese as its main language but receives and publishes research in Spanish and English. Its periodicity is semiannual. We invite the submission of unpublished and original public scientific papers, subject to a peer-review process. We release two dossiers a year, but we have open and permanent reception of articles throughout the year.
It is important to point out that Argumentos began in print in 2004 on an annual basis. From 2015, still in print, Arguments adopts the semiannual format. It will be, however, in 2016, that the magazine will have its electronic ISSN, electronic edition, and is incorporated into the journal portal of the State University of Montes Claros, which has the OJS platform, and strictly maintains its semiannual periodicity. In the same period, Argumentos adopts a policy of insertion in national and international databases and indexers. Currently, Argumentos is indexed in the Latindex, DOAJ, Redib, Diadorim, Sumarios.org, Google Scholar databases and is also in the portals of CAPES, ANPOCS, LatinREV - CLACSO and Minas Periodicals. Each article published by Argumentos also has the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) identification system.
