The name WalennaE is taken from the river which is spent, archaeologically, which has been largely from ancient life in South Sulawesi.
WalennaE: Archaeological Journal of South and Southeast Sulawesi, is published by the Balai Arkeologi Sulawesi Selatan as a way of publication and information on research results in the archaeology and related sciences. This journal is intended for the development of science as a reference that can be accessed by researchers, students and the general public.
Sejak pertama kali diterbitkan pada tahun 1998, Jurnal Walenna yang dua kali setahun telah menerbitkan hasil penelitian yang berisi artikel ide konseptual dan studi dan aplikasi dan memperluas ruang lingkup studi budaya. Seiring dengan perkembangannya, pada tahun 2017, Jurnal Walenna telah mengelola jurnal dengan Open Journal System (OJS).
