The Northeastern Journal of Biology today aims, at national and international level, to disseminate biological knowledge in the areas of Botany, Zoology and Ethnobiology in particular. Revista Nordestina de Biologia accepts papers of a Brazilian nature in particular, and neotropical in general, whatever the authors' origins. It is not a regional journal and its title should be understood as representing a biology journal edited by a northeastern university. The works with scope for the journal encompass the following disciplines in the biological sciences: Botany and Paleobotany; Zoology and Paleozoology; Ecology; Oceonography; Ethnobiology; and Evolution.
