Modern Geográfia—a quarterly scientific journal of the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of Pécs with articles in English and Hungarian—has been receiving a wide range of publications in the field of geography and related sciences for more than 15 years. The aim of the double-blind, peer-reviewed journal is to provide an international platform with open access to studies in a wide range of scientific fields, facilitating the cross-border development of scholarly discourse. We strongly support the publication of research papers that are based on a complex approach, and, with a broader geographical focus, that are of interest to an international readership. The journal does not exclusively publish articles on earth sciences and classic geographical topics, but it also covers fields related to regional development, regional economics, settlement sociology, international relations and geopolitics. The aim of the journal is to become a broader source for analysis, in which traditional and innovative approaches to human and physical geography play important roles.
