Baçini is an Italian word. It means basin in Italian while it has the meaning of bowl in Turkish. There are many concepts about the word of Baçini, but especially it is used for ceramic pots which are placed in certain parts of the buildings in order to create embellishment in art history. We can say that the development of baçini practices in the Turkish period in Anatolia started with the era of Anatolian Seljuk. It is possible to see inlaid ceramics on the interior and exterior facades of Seljuk era’s architectural works which were located in different regions of Anatolia. Although examples of baçini usually embellish the facades of religious buildings such as mosques, madrasas and tombs, they can also be seen on the walls of military/civil architectural examples such as Ani Castle and Bayburt Castle.
Baçini Art Journal (Baçini) which started its publication life in 2023 on behalf of Bayburt University Art and Design Faculty, is an international refereed academic e-journal. Baçini has made it its mission to share the articles, which aim to make a qualified contribution to the literature, with the world of science and art electronically with no fee.
A manuscript which is submitted in accordance with the journal’s writing rules is first reviewed by the chief editor and then evaluated by neutral referees who are directed by the relevant field editor. The manuscripts which are sent to the journal are reviewed by expert referees and accepted to our journal if they are worth to publish. The works of senders will be evaluated eletronically by at least two referees by blind refereeing method.
